First shoot-Weekend in Tobago

At first nerves stepped in when I realized Friday was upon me, its the day we fly to the sister isle to shoot or gather footage for our "Final Project". We left Trinidad at 8:15 pm and arrived in the sister isle atleast 20 minutes later. There Trixie's sister Tracey(who would also be out driver for this weekend shoot across the island) picked us up at the airport and took us to our hotel room for the weekend.

Ohh what a long day it was...wow!! The day began for us all at between 5 am - 5:30 am. The drive was at least two hours away. Now nature and its beauty is certainly worth the sacrifice and time. Our first stop was at Pirate's Bay, which required a thirty minute hike up through a dirt track. It was from there the shooting began. We spent a little over 5 hours at this beach gathering all the necessary shots to pull off the documentary. Ending out that shoot with a dip in the beautiful clear, calm waters of Pirate's Bay. Then the hard part commenced getting back out, and this required us going back up the one hundred plus stairs though the trees and down the 30 minute dirt track. After the most tiring trip back, lunch was a must.

It was after that hour break for lunch, we ventured to Hermitage Beach which could have been about a 30 minute drive further to the eastern side of Tobago. The only truly appreciated visit was the omission of this beach, was of tiresome hike towards the beach which Pirate's bay permitted. There at Hermitage we again were embraced by nature's beauty, indeed another Hidden Treasure!! One factor both beaches possessed was the seclusion element. Other than the five of us, the beach maybe had one or two other persons.

Shooting began promptly when we got there as by now we sort of grew weary, but we knew we had to endure. The shoot itself went perfectly. Audio was perfect. Location and delivery on point....but then came this strange guy who came and distracted our shoot... However relatively it was a productive day.  So it seems unfortunately we may have to revisit. Not great news, but I hues these things do and can happen at shoots.

Sunday morning which was another early morning move at 5:45 am. I was only able to stay for the shoot at the airport as I had to report for work back in Trinidad later on that day for 2pm. The shoot at the airport required permission to film on the airport grounds. Trixie made a few calls and upon receiving permission we began the shoot. However after about spending two hours with the group for that shoot, I said my goodbyes to them and headed to the departure lounge to head home.
