SUNDAY 22nd August: Saving Power proceeded to Columbus Bay. We arrived at Columbus Bay at midday and promptly began the shoot on one of the southern part of Trinidad's hidden treasure! The trip was about at least 3 hours long.
The beach provided great locations to shoot the host...I especially loved the availability of the natural sound, from the breeze, the limited persons on the beach having a good time, the water rushing upon the shore and nature at its best. As the sound operator I was satisfied. The beach provide great colour and atmosphere for the shoot...from mingling with the few persons there was on the beach, to observing the stray horses dipping in the ocean just as the visitors did. Each member meshed ideas together as well as executed our roles with little issue. I felt honored that prior to every shoot Trixie would communicate with me to see what I thought of the script or what else should be inserted into the script. I felt appreciated.
On paper my supporting role was that of camera woman (Sherece perfected that role without the need of my help), however I can honestly say I performed the role on locations as the Production Assistant.
I spent another 30 minutes today going through musical selections to pass to the editor for the final production.
This project was hard work but fun at times. I said it before and I do realise it this time around, group work can be challenging when it comes to dealing with personalities, but once we remain focused it CAN work out for the good.
TODAY: Another meeting with our Lecturer for this Media Project. Suggestions were passed to us as to where our attention or direction should be focused. Our lecturer was pleased with our presentation last week and commended us on the great work. The producer confirmed that the email was sent to the representative at TDC as confirmation of the interview.
Our next shoot is scheduled for this coming sunday at 7am at the Hyatt water front, where we do the introduction of the shoot.
